Cookie policy

Last updated: 18 October 2026

This page lists the cookies and similar browser storage that okay.day uses, and what each one is for. It is part of our privacy policy. The iPhone app is covered there too; it doesn’t use cookies.

What cookies and device storage are

Cookies are small pieces of data a website stores in your browser and sends back with later requests. Local storage and session storage are related mechanisms that let a site remember things on your device without sending them to a server. We use them only for the purposes below.

Essential (always on)

NameSet byPurposeLifetime
okey:analyticsConsent (local storage)okay.dayRemembers whether you accepted or declined analytics so we don’t ask againUntil you change it or clear site data

Analytics (only after you accept)

Nothing analytics-related is loaded until you choose “Accept” in the banner. If you accept:

NameSet byPurposeLifetime
ph_* (cookie and local storage)PostHogA random identifier and session details so page views from the same browser can be counted togetherUp to one year

PostHog runs with automatic click tracking, session recording and surveys turned off. It records page views and a few named events (such as tapping the App Store button). If you decline, or withdraw your consent later, we stop analytics immediately and remove PostHog’s stored data from your browser.

Error monitoring

Sentry, our error monitoring service, doesn’t set cookies or store anything in your browser. It only sends a technical report when something goes wrong.

The retired web app

If you once installed the old Okay Day web app, your browser may still hold its offline cache and settings. On your next visit to okay.day, the old offline cache is removed automatically. Any leftover okey:* keys can be removed by clearing site data in your browser.

Managing your choice

You can change your analytics decision at any time with the button at the end of this page. “Change my choice” clears your stored choice, stops analytics straight away, removes PostHog’s data from your browser, and shows the banner again so you can decide afresh. You can also delete cookies and site data through your browser settings.

We’re finishing it. It’ll be here, on this page, the day it’s out.
