Privacy policy

Last updated: 18 October 2026

Okay Day is an iPhone app for up to five things a day, made by Northeast Indies (“we”, “us”). This policy covers the app and this website, okay.day. Short version: the app doesn’t collect anything, and the website collects as little as it can. We don’t sell personal data or use it for advertising.

The iPhone app

The app has no account, no sign-up and no login. The tasks you add and the days you punch are stored on your iPhone. The app doesn’t send them to us, and we don’t have a server to send them to. The app has no analytics and no ads.

Purchases (the free trial and the one-time unlock) go through Apple’s App Store. Apple handles the payment; we don’t receive your payment details.

This website

Hosting

The website is hosted by Vercel, which processes technical request data (such as your IP address and browser type) to deliver pages and protect the site.

Error reports

If something goes wrong on the website, our error monitoring service (Sentry) receives a technical report: the error message and stack trace, your browser and operating system, the page you were on, and the time. We don’t record sessions or replays.

Analytics (only with your consent)

We use PostHog to understand which pages are useful. It never runs until you choose “Accept” in the banner. If you accept, PostHog records the pages you view and a few named interactions (such as tapping the App Store button), together with your browser type, an approximate location derived from your IP address, and a random identifier stored in your browser. Session recording, surveys and automatic click tracking are switched off.

The launch waitlist

Until Okay Day is in the App Store, you can leave your email address on this website to hear when it is. We keep your address and the time you left it, and use it for one thing: one email, the day the app is out. Then we delete the list. Nobody else gets it, and it isn’t a newsletter.

We do this with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time: email us and we’ll delete your address. The list is stored in a database run for us by Upstash, through our host, Vercel. To stop the form being abused, the website counts sign-ups from each visitor for an hour, using a scrambled (hashed) form of your IP address that expires after that hour.

What we don’t collect

No precise location, contacts, photos, health data or payment details. No advertising trackers or social media pixels.

These are US companies, so some data may be transferred to and stored in the United States. We don’t share data with anyone else, except where the law requires it.

The retired web app and the old waitlist

Okay Day used to be a web app with accounts, and this website had an earlier waitlist. Both are gone. If you had a web account or joined the old waitlist, that data (your email address, and for accounts your name and routine data) is still held by our former providers, Clerk (sign-in) and Convex (database, EU). You can no longer sign in to delete it yourself: email us and we’ll delete it.

Retention

  • Error reports are kept by Sentry for a limited period (currently 90 days) and then deleted automatically.
  • Analytics data is kept by PostHog in aggregate.
  • The launch waitlist is deleted after the launch email; your address sooner, on request.
  • Data from the retired web app and the old waitlist is deleted on request (see above).

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, delete or restrict the use of your personal data, to object to processing, and to withdraw consent. Change your analytics choice at any time on the cookie policy page. For anything else, email us and we’ll respond as soon as we can. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

Children

Okay Day is not directed at children under 16, and we don’t knowingly collect personal data from them.

Changes

We may update this policy. We’ll update the date at the top of this page and, for significant changes, say so on the website.

Not in the App Store yet.

We’re finishing it. It’ll be here, on this page, the day it’s out.
